"Context: Het Kindertherapeuticum is een private antroposofische zorginstelling voor diagnostische evaluatie en therapie van drie stromen kinderen (kindergeneeskunde, kinderpsychiatrie en ontwikkelingsproblemen). De aanpak van de instelling wordt gekenmerkt door: integratie van reguliere en antroposofische methoden, multidisciplinair werken en veel aandacht voor de uniciteit van het kind door gebruik van een kwalitatieve, fenomenologische, diagnostische methode.

De meeste ouders, artsen en therapeuten zijn (zeer) tevreden met de diagnostiek, behandeling en de kwaliteit van de organisatie van de instelling. Oordelen van de ouders over effecten (meer dan 2/3), reductie van zorggebruik na visitatie van het therapeuticum, en vermindering van conventionele medicatie gebruik (gemiddeld 20%) geven aanwijzingen voor positieve effecten van de aanpak van het Kindertherapeuticum.

"Results: The average response to the questionnaires was 54%. Client characteristics: Children come from the region (43%), other parts of the Netherlands (55%) or other countries (2%). Their age is: 0-7 (50%), 8-11 (35 %), 12-20 (15%). Two-thirds of these children come to Zeist because of psychiatric, psychosomatic or pedagogical problems, and one-third because of somatic problems. Most parents explicitly choose the centre for its anthroposophic approach (88%). A growing number of parents (an estimated 30%) come from a non-anthroposophic doctor. Most parents, physicians and therapists are satisfied or very satisfied with the diagnostics, treatment, and quality of the health centre's organisation. Parents’ positive evaluations of the effects (>66%), and the reduced care needs and lower use of conventional medication (about -20%) after visiting the therapeuticum, indicate that the centre’s integrated approach is effective.
